Ethnocafe: Presentation of “The joys and sorrows of Bulgarian bohemianism” and a conversation with Emil Bassat

In the fifth event of the “Ethnocafe” activity under the “United in Diversity” project, Emil Bassat’s new book “The Joys and Sorrows of Bulgarian Bohemianism” will be presented.

Emil Bassat was born in 1949 in Sofia. He graduated in Bulgarian philology at the University of St. Kliment Ohridski”. Literary journalist and translation historian. He is the author of seven books: “Czech Triptych. Images of Bulgarian literature in profile and full-face” (co-authored with Velichko Todorov), 1995, “Translation – faces and masks”, book one, 2007, “Translation – faces and masks”, book two, 2010, “Bulgarian-Hungarian diphthong “, 2015, “Slovak faces of Bulgarian literature”, electronic version, 2017, “For Poland – with love. The Bulgarian voices of Polish literature”, 2018, “Translation – faces and masks”, book three, 2019.

In “The Joys and Sorrows of Bulgarian Bohemianism” the author continues his attempts to cover the images of Bulgarian translators and the history of translation work in our country.

Prof. Albert Benbassat will speak for the author.
