SUMMARY:Ethnocafe: Presentation of the monograph "Roma literature" by Sofia Zakhova
DESCRIPTION:The last Ethnocafene will focus on Roma literature through the monographic book “Roma Literature” (“Paradigm”) by Sofia Zakhova created under the “Unity in Diversity” project. She is part of the team of the Icelandic project partner – Vigdís International Center for Multilingual and Intercultural Understanding.\n“Roma literature” reveals the history of an unknown literature from its inception in the 19th century to the digital age\, when Romani literature is a transnational phenomenon. The monograph offers a historical overview of the main trends\, authors\, themes and events in the field of Roma literary creativity and journalism. The monograph outlines the trends in the development of Roma literature as a general historical phenomenon and at the same time analyzes the specifics of individual historical periods\, geographical regions and countries. \nWritten in an accessible way and containing a wealth of photographic material that illustrates the themes of the publication\, “Roma Literature” will be valuable both to specialists and to all readers interested in the Romani language and literature. \nThe “Ethnocafe” event is part of the “United in Diversity” project\, implemented with the support of the Program “Cultural Entrepreneurship\, Heritage and Cooperation” and the Financial Mechanism of the EEA and the Norwegian Financial Mechanism in Bulgaria. \nThe event will be held on the second floor of the National Library “St. St. Cyril and Methodius”. Welcome!

SUMMARY:Presentation of the thematic bibliographic index "Publications from the collection of the National Library "St. St. Cyril and Methodius" for the Armenian\, Jewish and Roma ethnic groups"
DESCRIPTION:At the event\, the thematic bibliographic index “Publications from the collection of the National Library “St. St. Cyril and Methodius” for the Armenian\, Jewish and Roma ethnic groups”. Chronologically\, the bibliographic array covers the period from 1822 to 2023. During the event\, emphasis will be placed on the production of this type of bibliographic indexes and their importance for researching the cultural heritage of the three ethnic (minority) groups – Roma\, Jews and Armenians. Regardless of the public interest in the coexistence of the different ethnic groups in Bulgaria over the years\, as well as the numerous publications about them\, no bibliographic study of independent publications stored in the collection of the National Library has been prepared so far. The purpose of the publication is to show the “coexistence” of the cultures of the ethnic groups in the context of Bulgarian culture. The compilers and bibliographic editors of the publication will talk about the book. \nModerator of the event: Yanitsa Radeva \nWelcome!
